Nils Frahm - Pianist

The music becomes a contingency, a chance, an accident within all this rustling. My heart opens and I wonder what exactly it is that makes me feel so happy."



Sadly, I can't even find the words to describe Nils Frahm. There is something so magical about his music that causes my mind to get lost in a world so far from reality. To say that I spent an hour last night listening to this pianist and letting my thoughts flow freely onto a blank sheet of paper, wouldn't be a lie. Nothing I write about this composer / producer would even begin to describe the beauty of his work.



My personal favorite, "Wintermuzik," was Frahm's first album and released through Erased Tapes Records. Following this release were The Bells (2009), Unter | Über (2010), Felt (2011), and Juno (2011).

"Oh Shit It's Monday" - Chris Jylkke

Technically it's tuesday, I'm a day late... but I couldn't NOT post this. I can honestly say that Chris Jylkke is my hero right now. Obviously not the fictional Marvel type hero, but better. His "Oh Shit It's Monday" mixtape has completely transformed my day.

Have you ever had the sudden urge to run up and down the streets screaming in people's faces because you were so happy? .. Neither have I, but this shit comes pretty close to giving me that feeling. Ha ahhh but seriously, sitting inside listening to this mix isn't doing it any justice. If music has the power to make someone this happy... that's pretty legit.

I saw these photos earlier today and couldn't help but post them up ASAP. Troy Mattison Hicks has completely captured my attention with these dream pop style pictures. There is something so mesmerizing about them, which combined with my recent lack of social life, is completely hazardous; I could literally stare at them all day!

What doesn't this guy do? Be sure to check out his music under the alias Zelium Quang. If you're looking for something mellow to get you through the day, his free digital EP "Madness In The Air" is definitely the way to go. It's only three songs, but I've been listening to it on repeat for the past hour and haven't even noticed. I'm not sure if that's a bad or good thing.
